Haven PTS as a Supported Business

As a supported business, 90% of our workforce has some form of disability or complex barrier to work. Haven PTS was formed in October 2013 following the political closure of the Remploy Textile factories in Scotland. Opening with an initial headcount of 13, Haven PTS has expanded rapidly and we now employ over 50 staff at our state-of-the-art facility in Larbert.

Our primary aim is to provide meaningful employment for disabled adults and create a workplace which is supportive and inclusive to all. To achieve this we provide our employees with structured training programmes and skills development opportunities alongside employee-specific working conditions and job roles.

Why Work with Haven PTS?

“Our supported factories and businesses play a vital role in providing quality, competitively-priced goods and services to the public sector.

Fergus Ewing, MSP and Cabinet Secretary for Rural Economy and Connectivity

It is a Scottish Government Policy that every public body should reserve at least one contract for supported businesses. Haven PTS is proud to be a supplier on The Scottish Procurement Framework for Supported Businesses. This Framework, alongside Article 19 of the EU Public Procurement Directive, ensures the tender process is quicker and easier for public bodies when they purchase goods and services from supported businesses like Haven PTS. Haven PTS offers public bodies a local and efficient solution to incorporating Scottish supported businesses into their supply chain.

In return for a contract with Haven PTS, customers benefit by securing a high quality, value-for-money service whilst helping to sustain a Scottish supported business. In addition, our facility in Larbert is centrally located within Scotland meaning we are easily accessible (relative to distances incurred in offshoring manufacturing). Haven PTS contributes in making Scotland a fairer and more inclusive society and working with us can help your organisation make a positive social impact and achieve Corporate Social Responsibility goals.

Support Our Growth

Through our work with new and existing customers, we hope to create more employment opportunities for disabled adults. Public bodies which have supported us include NHS Scotland, the Scottish Prison Service, North Ayrshire Council and the National Library of Scotland. We have won awards at both The National and Scottish Governmental Opportunities Excellence in Public Procurement Awards for our partnership with Dimensions Corporate Wear to produce a nursing uniform range for the NHS Scotland.
